EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

Lisa Meeches is one of the most dynamic and respected producers in the film industry and is Anishinaabe from Long Plain First Nation, Sandy Bay First Nation, and Ebb and Flow First Nation. Lisa has produced numerous projects to critical acclaim including The Sharing Circle, Canada’s longest-running Indigenous television series; Ice Road Truckers; Tipi Tales (3 Parent’s Choice Awards); Taken (4 CSA nominations, Beyond Borders Media Award); Elijah, a Gemini Award-winning MOW; and the 3-times nominated 2-time winner of CSA’s Jack. She Executive Produced the 4-time CSA nominee and 2-time winner We Were Children, is widely praised by residential school survivors for its power to heal, while general audiences have been moved by its accurate and truthful portrayal of the impacts of Canada’s colonial past. In 2021, We Were Children topped many streamers’ documentary list, though it was released nearly 10 years earlier. Prior to embarking on We Were Children, Lisa travelled the country with her team interviewing residential school survivors about their experiences for the Legacy of Hope project. Lisa was also the Director, Events Planning and Artistic Programming for the TRC Commission. Lisa served as Creative Director/Executive Producer for the National MMIWG Inquiry. Her work was honoured with two gold medals at the international Shorty Awards for excellence in social media. Lisa is Co-Executive Producer on four seasons of the CBC/eOne/CW series Burden of Truth, and was an Executive Producer on the award-winning film Night Raiders.
